1 Chronicles 4:24-43

Chapter 4
24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul. 25 Salem his son, Mebhashem his son, Mashma his son. 26 And the sons of Mishma: Hamuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son. 27 And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many sons, and all their family did not multiply like the sons of Judah. 28 They dwelt in Beersheba, Moladah, and Hazar Shual. 29 and in Bablah and in Etzem and in Tolad 30 Bethuel, Hormah, and Ziklag 31 and in the house of chariots and in the court of horses and in the house of Bera'i and in the gates—these were their cities until King David. 32 Their cities were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan—five cities. 33 And all their villages around these cities as far as Baal-zot, their dwelling. And they registered their genealogy. 34 And Meshebab and Jamlech and Jushah son of Amaziah. 35 And Joel and Jehu son of Joshibiah son of Seraiah son of Asiel. 36 and Elioenai and Jacobah and Jeshohiah and Asaiah and Adiel and Jesimiel and Benaiah. 37 And Ziza son of Shiphi son of Allon son of Jedaiah son of Shimei son of Shemaiah. 38 These are the ones who came by name, rulers in their families and houses of their fathers, who broke out to abundance. 39 They went to the entrance of Geder, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock. 40 And they found fat and good pasture, and the land broad of hands and quiet and at peace, for the ones who had dwelt there formerly were from Ham. 41 And these—the ones written by name—came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah and struck their tents and the dwellings that were found there, and they devoted them to destruction until this day, and they dwelt in their place because there was pasture for their flock there. 42 And from them, of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men went to Mount Seir, and Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head. 43 And they struck the remnant of the escape of Amalek, and they dwelt there until this day.
